                              Fast and Furious!

Brands Hatch Classic Festival, 14-15 May 2005

The csma Brands Hatch Classic Festival is always an action-packed weekend. Up to 60,000 spectators enjoy two days of classic car and motorcycle racing, air shows, exhibits and day-long family entertainment - all at an advance ticket price of just £14 for adults, with children under 16 admitted free. But on 14-15 May 2005, the action will be taken to an entirely new level.

Our race programme has added a double round of the Formula Palmer Audi single-seater series to the mix, televised race by race on Sky TV. Then there are post-Historic and Group 1 Touring Cars - with familiar favourites ranging from Ford Capri and Chevy Camaro to Rover SD1. Plus Formula Ford; and specific races for Austin-Healeys, classic BMWs and MGs. Not to mention the classic motorcycles of the Lansdowne Series, featuring such two-wheeled symbols of the Sixties as the iconic Manx Norton.

On-track demos will include a 150mph Ford Transit - the famous Supervan 3 which has not been seen on a circuit since 2001. This awesome machine houses a Ford-Cosworth Pro Sports 3000 (V6) engine, and is coming to Brands to mark the 40th anniversary of the wonder workhorse Transit.

The displays of some 1000 classic cars will range from Lotus to a very special collection of Ferraris; and since the Festival hosts the MG Owners' Club National Event, there will be a dedicated display to celebrate some significant anniversaries - the MGF's 10th and MGA's 50th among them. Expect, too, plenty of highly individual vehicles including an astonishing Rolls-Royce of the late Thirties that houses a mighty Merlin engine, powerplant of the legendary War-winning Spitfire - plus a selection of 'extreme street machines', classic and modern.

In the air, the Festival welcomes back the RAF Falcons Free-Fall Parachute Display Team who'll be dropping in on Brands from 10,000 feet. Plus we'll have a great display from the nine Yak fighter aircraft of the Aerostars with their propellor-driven aerobatics; and the sensational Denny Dobson Extra 300 stunt aircraft.

Finally, to keep the whole family happy, there is a circuit-wide carnival of free fun-fair rides, motorcycle daredevils, jazz bands, and a vast spread of trade stands. The csma Brands Hatch Classic Festival begins at 9am each day and the track action continues right through to 5.30pm. Advance tickets are just £14 per day for adults (£20 on the day) with children under 16 admitted free. Call 01273 744773.
