SONOMA, Calif. - Classic vintage sports cars will once again ride through the streets of Sonoma on Saturday, May 19th, for the Sonoma Valley Vintage Race Car Festival on the Plaza in Sonoma.
The event, which benefits the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation and the Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau, will feature a parade of 30 vintage race cars that will wind their way from Sears Point Raceway through the quaint streets of downtown Sonoma to the winery. They will sit in the Plaza in a Concours-like setting for viewing.
The event will also feature gourmet foods prepared by Sonoma Valley's most talented chefs, and some of the Sonoma Valley's finest wines will be available once at the festival on the Plaza. This popular event is held in conjunction with the Chrysler/Jeep Wine Country Classic Vintage Car Races, which features the best in classic automobile racing at Sears Point Raceway, May 18-20.
The festival will run from 5:30-8 p.m. in Sonoma and tickets are $30 in advance ($35 at the gate). You can person tickets at the Sonoma Valley Visitor's Bureau (453 First St. East, Sonoma, 95476, 707-996-1090) or by calling Sears Point Raceway at 800-870-RACE.
