OAK Racing, the reigning champion in the FIA LM P2 Endurance Trophy for Teams, is entering a Morgan-Judd LM P2 in three rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Different driver line-ups comprising people the team knows well will follow one another in the car.

The OAK Racing team, already present in the Le Mans 24 Hours, the Tudor United SportsCar Championship, the Asian Le Mans Series and also the FIA WEC through G-Drive Racing, is intensifying its 2014 sporting programme by entering a Morgan-Judd LM P2 in the world championship. The latter decorated in the Sarthe team’s famous black and pink livery and shod with Dunlop tyres will take part in the Fuji, Shanghai and Bahrain rounds.

The Fuji 6 Hours, the fifth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, will thus have an additional LM P2 on the grid. The no. 35 Morgan-Judd LM P2 built by Onroak Automotive will be driven by Japanese Keiko Ihara, who is a real star in her home country, and the very quick pairing of Gustavo Yacaman-Alex Brundle who are already racing in the Tudor USCC for the French squad.

Three weeks later the no. 35 Morgan-Judd LM P2 will start the Shanghai 6 Hours with another line-up. David Cheng and Ho-Pin Tung from China, OAK Racing drivers in the last Le Mans 24 Hours who are also competing in the Asian Le Mans Series for the second year running, will be joined by a new team-mate: Mark Patterson. The American has been taking part in various events over the last 17 years including the Le Mans 24 Hours, in GTs and sport prototypes.

OAK Racing’s third outing will be in the Bahrain 6 Hours. David Cheng and Mark Patterson will continue their collaboration while Ho-Pin Tung will hand over to Keiko Ihara making her return to the cockpit of the no. 35 Morgan-Judd LM P2.

Jacques Nicolet, OAK Racing President: “Our job running the car for G-Drive Racing has enabled us stay in the FIA WEC after our fantastic year in 2013. For the second part of the 2014 season starting with Fuji we’re entering for three rounds a Morgan-Judd LM P2 with which we’ve racked up numerous successes so we’ll beef up the field in LM P2 in this championship with a car in the colours of OAK Racing. I’m delighted to welcome back drivers that we appreciate very much to our team as well as newcomer Mark Patterson.”
