After the official FIA WEC “Prologue” on the Paul Ricard Circuit in the south of France on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th of March, the REBELLION Racing team is confident to tackle the season-opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship on 17th April in the UK at the 6 Hours of Silverstone.

The REBELLION Racing crew and cars are now back at their workshop and focused on preparation for the opening round in less than three weeks time.

The two day test at Paul Ricard circuit for the FIA WEC Prologue was positive in many ways. Both the #12 and #13 Rebellion R-One AER cars completing an impressive total of 533 laps and 3087 km over the two days of the test. The cars showed strong pace and posted the second and third fastest top speeds of the field with 335.4 km/h for the #12 Rebellion R-One AER and 334.4 km/h for the sister car, #13.

Even being a private team they have a lot of people and they are working really hard to make the car better.

The team managed to tick off all the points on their testing programme as planned including a thorough evaluation of new Dunlop tyres.

Recently announced as joining Nicolas Prost and Nick Heidfeld in the #12 R-One for the Silverstone, Spa and Le Mans races, Nelson Piquet Jr made his debut with the Swiss team. The Brazilian drove the Rebellion R-One AER for the first time during the Prologue and gained significant driving time, including his first night session with an LMP1 car.

At the end of the two days of testing, the #13 Rebellion R-One AER driven by Alexandre Imperatori, Dominik Kraihamer and Mathéo Tuscher secured the fifth fastest overall laptime and best LMP1 Privateer with a time of 1:41.733. The sister car #12 driven by Nicolas Prost, Nick Heidfeld and Nelson Piquet Jr was sixth with a 1:42.147.

Bart Hayden, REBELLION Racing Team Manager: "These were two very good test days. We completed all of our testing plan. We tested with both our low and high downforce aero configurations. We’ve had an intense Winter with almost 15 days of testing since the final race of the 2015 season. The R-One cars have been modified in several areas and it was interesting to see the outcome of the changes on the track. We’re ready for the season opening race at Silverstone."

Nelson Piquet Jr – Rebellion R-One #12: "Everything went very well, I got to do more laps than I expected, so I am happy. I already knew my teammates so everything was fine, it’s great to work with them. The team is really good to work with too. Even being a private team they have a lot of people and they are working really hard to make the car better. I can’t wait for our first race at Silverstone."
