World of Outlaws Sprint Series At A Glance: Jackson, Powercom and K-C Raceway

WHAT
The World of Outlaws Sprint Series invades Jackson Speedway on Friday in Jackson, Minn., then rolls down Interstate 90 on Saturday to The Raceway at Powercom Park in Beaver Dam, Wis., before winding up Tuesday at K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio. The events at Jackson and Powercom are being run by SLS Promotions.

WHERE
* To get to Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minn., take U.S. 71 0.3 miles south of Interstate 90, go 1 mile south on CR 38, then 0.9 miles south on CR 51 (located at the Jackson County Fairgrounds).

* Powercom Park is 0.4 miles east of US 151 on SR33, then South on Raceway Road.

* To get to K-C Raceway, take U.S. 23 12 miles south of Chillicothe, Ohio, then go 2 miles west on Blain Highway.

WHEN
* At Jackson Speedway, the infield will be open at 2 p.m. for racers and spectators. The grandstands will be open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are set for 7 p.m. with racing at 8 p.m.

* At Powercom, pit gates are set to open at 2 p.m., main gates at 3 p.m., hot laps at 6 p.m. and qualifying and racing to follow.

* At K-C Raceway, pit gates are slated to open at 3:30 p.m. with the main gates opening at 4 p.m. Warm-ups are set for 6 p.m. with time trials at 7 p.m.

ABOUT THE TRACKS
* Jackson Speedway is a semi-banked, half-mile oval. Craig Dollansky established the single-lap record of 15.800 seconds on Sept. 24, 2004.

* The Raceway at Powercom Park is a high-banked, 1/3-mile oval. Daryn Pittman established the track record of 11.275 seconds on July 10, 2001, in a Gumout Series event.

* K-C Raceway is a high-banked, 3/8-mile oval. Kenny Jacobs established the World of Outlaws track record of 11.174 seconds on July 31, 2003.

TELEVISION
* The Outdoor Channel will air at 8 p.m. Eastern on Sept. 21 the Gold Cup Race of Champions from Silver Dollar Speedway, on Sept. 28 the 1/3-mile Short Track Nationals from O'Reilly Auto Parts Eagle Raceway, and on Oct. 5 the event from The Raceway at Powercom Park.

Among the features are updated driver biographies with individual statistics and pictures, race-by-race statistics, detailed track information and race coverage, series news and team press releases. * Taking shape: DIRT MotorSports, Inc., announced Monday that it has signed agreements with Craig Dollansky, Terry McCarl, Daryn Pittman, Donny Schatz and Brooke Tatnell to form the foundation of the 2006 World of Outlaws Sprint Series tour. "DIRT MotorSports will continue to focus on increasing the overall awareness and participation in 410 sprint racing," said Brian Carter, Vice President and CFO of DIRT. "Our long-term strategy is built around creating increased opportunities for the drivers, teams and promoters and at the same time delivering an unmatched racing experience for the fans. We have made significant progress in 2005 toward these goals and expect the same in 2006. The results of these efforts are significant and our increasing reach into the market can be measured by the attendance during 2005 and the 1.6 million fans that watched the World of Outlaw programs on the Outdoor Channel in August of 2005."

* The great Outdoor Channel: DIRT MotorSports, Inc., recently announced that it has secured up to 50 weeks of primetime programming dedicated to the World of Outlaws Sprint Series in 2006 on the Outdoor Channel. In addition, The Outdoor Channel has extended the 2005 season schedule to include up to eight additional weeks of primetime programming. These special one-hour programs will include biography shows such as "Off Season with the Outlaws" as well as other feature programs focusing on the drivers, teams and 28-year history of the World of Outlaws. Upcoming broadcasts will also include the World of Outlaws Sprint Series annual banquet held at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas.

* Victory lane: Steve Kinser's victory Saturday night at Eagle Raceway was his series-leading 19th A-feature victory. He also leads the series with six preliminary feature wins this season. -- There have been 17 different A-feature winners this season. Including preliminary features, 22 different drivers have visited Victory Lane this season with the Outlaws. -- Kraig Kinser captured the Knoxville Nationals on Aug. 14 for his sixth A-feature victory of the season. He also has a preliminary feature win at Las Vegas. -- Donny Schatz's victory on Sept. 4 at Calistoga Speedway was his sixth of the season. -- Jason Meyers earned his fourth win of the season July 2 at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D. -- Tim Shaffer's victory July 19 in the Silver Cup was his third of the season, going with wins Lake Ozark Speedway and Thunderbowl Raceway. -- Daryn Pittman's victory Tuesday night at Rocky Mountain National Speedway was his third of the season. -- Craig Dollansky has two A-feature victories and three preliminary feature wins. -- Brian Paulus won June 28 at Huset's Speedway for his second victory of the season, and picked up a preliminary feature win in the following race at Red River Valley Speedway. -- Brooke Tatnell has two A-feature victories, winning at Cedar Lake and Fulton speedways, as well as a preliminary feature win at Princeton Speedway. -- Sammy Swindell won his second A-feature of the season June 4 at Eldora Speedway. Swindell also has a preliminary feature win April 8 at Eldora and Aug. 14 at Knoxville Raceway in the Nationals' non-qualifiers event. -- Danny Lasoski won Aug. 30 at Cottage Grove Speedway and has three preliminary feature wins. -- Fred Rahmer won the Summer Nationals crown July 23 and picked up a preliminary feature win in the Knoxville Nationals on Aug. 10. -- Single-event winners include Jac Haudenschild on Aug. 5 at Eldora Speedway, Stevie Smith July 13 at Attica Raceway Park, Tim Kaeding June 11 at Sheboygan County Fair Park, Chad Kemenah July 9 at I-55 Raceway, and Jeff Shepard Feb. 11 at Volusia Speedway Park. -- In preliminary features, Joey Saldana, Paul McMahan, Jason Johnson and Shane Stewart have each won once.

* Half-mile winners: Including preliminary features, the series has raced 33 times this year on half-mile circuits with Steve Kinser winning nine times (Volusia, Eldora three times, Knoxville, Williams Grove, Hartford, Red River Valley and Calistoga), Sammy Swindell winning four times (twice at Eldora, once at Hagerstown and Knoxville), Craig Dollansky winning twice (Manzanita and Williams Grove), Kraig Kinser winning three times (Las Vegas, and twice at Knoxville), Jason Meyers winning twice (Granite City and Red River Valley), Donny Schatz winning three times (Las Vegas/Route 66 Raceway/Calistoga), Fred Rahmer winning twice (Williams Grove and Knoxville), Danny Lasoski winning twice (Knoxville/Calistoga), and Brian Paulus (Red River Valley), Jeff Shepard (Volusia), Jason Johnson (Williams Grove), Paul McMahan (Williams Grove), Jac Haudenschild (Eldora) and Shane Stewart (Knoxville) each winning once.

* 1/3-mile winners: The Raceway at Powercom Park is a 1/3-mile oval. The series has raced 11 times this season on a track that size, including preliminaries, with five different winners. Chad Kemenah earned the first World of Outlaws victory by winning July 9 at I-55 Raceway. Steve Kinser won June 17-18 and Sept. 16-17 at Eagle Raceway and May 24 at Grandview Speedway, Tim Shaffer captured A-mains May 6 at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., and Feb. 25 at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. Craig Dollansky won at July 6 at Powercom Park and Feb. 26 at Bakersfield Speedway near Bakersfield, Calif. On April 2, Kraig Kinser won at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo.

* 3/8-mile winners: K-C Raceway is a high-banked 3/8-mile oval. Including preliminaries, the series has raced 14 times this season on tracks that length, at Pike County Speedway, Houston Raceway Park, Batesville Speedway, Outlaw Motor Speedway, 81 Speedway, Huset's Speedway, Cedar Lake Speedway, Attica Raceway Park, Fulton Speedway, BMP Speedway, Grays Harbor Raceway and now Rocky Mountain. Steve Kinser held off Brooke Tatnell to win at Pike County, Donny Schatz edged Steve Kinser at Houston, Kraig Kinser dominated at Batesville, Steve Kinser snuck past Jason Meyers late at Outlaw, Daryn Pittman cruised to victory at 81 Speedway, Jason Meyers outlasted the field at Sharon, Brian Paulus started on the pole and won at Huset's, Brooke Tatnell picked up his first win of the year at Cedar Lake and his second at Fulton, Stevie Smith won at Attica, Daryn Pittman won the feature and Steve Kinser won the preliminary at BMP Speedway, Donny Schatz won the feature and Steve Kinser won the preliminary at Grays Harbor, and Daryn Pittman won at Rocky Mountain.

* On tour, too: Several other drivers have committed to running the bulk of the schedule with the World of Outlaws Sprint Series in 2005 with hopes of earning a spot in a future Mean 15: Terry McCarl, who has won the past six 410 sprint championships at Knoxville Raceway; Shane Stewart, who is battling for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year title; Jason Solwold, a former track champion at Skagit Speedway who also is chasing top rookie honors; Sammy Swindell, a sprint car legend and three-time Outlaws champion, who has two A-feature victories this year; and Kevin Swindell, 16, who became the youngest driver to finish in the top 10 with the Outlaws when finished sixth in the feature at Parramatta City Raceway in January.

UPCOMING EVENTS
* After competing Sept. 27 at K-C Raceway, the Outlaws return Sept. 30-Oct. 1 to Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicburg, Pa.,, then cross back across the Midwest for a two-night event Oct. 7-8 at Dodge City Raceway in Dodge City, Kan. From there the series drops into Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix to complete the Cactus Classic that was rain-delayed after the preliminary feature in March. The Outlaws close out the year with a two-day show Oct. 14-15 at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., and a two-day show Oct. 21-22 at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
