Donny Schatz to Drive Commemorative Sprint Car MINOT, SD (June 26) - In celebration of the 4th of July and the 100th Anniversary of Trucking in America, Donny Schatz will drive a special car to commemorate the events. The Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series' 1997 Rookie of the Year will debut the sprint car in the Iowa Ethanol Classic at Knoxville Raceway, July 3-4. The series' 1997 Rookie of the Year will also race the special car at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, SD, July 7th. The Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series is scheduled to run a three-day event at Red River Valley Speedway in Schatz' home state of North Dakota, July 9-11. The July 10th races will be televised live on TNN: The Nashville Network. Schatz started his racing career at Red River Valley Speedway in 1993. He will drive the 4th of July/100th Anniversary of Trucking car during the three-day event. Blue Beacon Truck Washes, Schatz Crossroads Truckstops and Cafe, Bellerud Transport and Petro Stopping Centers are a very important part of the trucking industry and are proud to be part of the 100th Anniversary celebration. "Blue Beacon is proud to sponsor Donny Schatz on the World of Outlaws' tour," Blue Beacon President Trace Walker said Friday. "We're proud to have our name on the car and the trailer as he races all over the country." The first truck was built by the Winton Motor Vehicle Company of Cleveland in 1898. It was as 1,325-pound deliver wagon powered by a single-cylinder gasoline engine. Over the years, the truck has evolved into a high-tech luxury vehicle used by millions of commercial drivers across America. From Mack to Peterbuilt, Freightliner to Volvo, Ford to GMC, Sterling to Kenworth, they are part of the fleet of trucks that has moved America for 100 years. Schatz Motorsports uses a Kenworth T-2000 powered by a Detroit Diesel engine and an Eaton transmission. As proud supporters of Schatz Motorsports' #15 team, they look forward to Donny racing the commemorative car at special Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series events this season. As the World of Outlaws celebrates its 20th Anniversary, the big rig trucks and transporters have taken center stage as the primary transportation of the series' teams. ParkerStores is another company to support Schatz Motorsports on the World of Outlaws' tour. The Parker name is recognized worldwide as the leader in fluid connector technology. ParkerStores is the one-stop source for high quality hose and hose fittings, tubing, brass valves and quick coupling products. WoO
