* There isn't another track on the Pennzoil World of Outlaw's tour that has a reputation for tradition and speed to rival Earl Baltes' high-banked Eldora Speedway, also known as "The World's Fastest Half-Mile." Eldora also knows how to get the racers' attention in another way: this weekend's shows will pay out more than $209,000, including a $50,000-to-win for Saturday's Kings Royal.

* Goodyear will bring more than 400 tires to Eldora Speedway for the Outlaws in several compounds and sizes. Goodyear will have its new right-rear tire available at Eldora. This tire has been developed for Outlaws competition following controlled tests at Terre Haute and Lernerville and development use at several tracks since. As this is the third time the Outlaws have raced at Eldora in 2000, each team already has a book on how the track will perform over the weekend and Goodyear engineers are confident this new tire will fit favorably into that book.

"Goodyear had the winning tire for Bristol and we feel we have the tire to do likewise at Eldora," says Paul Lauritzen, Goodyear's operations manager for sprint/dirt racing. "Our engineers have been working hard to develop this new tire for our sprint/dirt customers and the results have been impressive thus far. Of course, the payoff for racing tires comes with wins and we believe the newest Goodyear Eagles will help our teams win the money this weekend."

* Goodyear is currently hitting .500 at Eldora in 2000. Mark Kinser claimed the 30-lap feature on June 3, driving away from cousin Steve in the "A" Feature. On April 22, the results were reversed, as Steve Kinser won by a few car lengths over Goodyear racers Mark Kinser, Stevie Smith, Joey Saldana, Dale Blaney and Sammy Swindell. The April 21 preliminary race was rained out and rescheduled as Thursday night's show.

* Goodyear continues to supply tires to the hottest drivers in Outlaws' competition. Goodyear-equipped drivers have won all but one "A" Main in July as of last weekend. Stevie Smith started the month by winning Knoxville's Iowa Ethanol Classic on July 1. Mark Kinser took the next two races, the Eagle (Neb.) Nationals on July 2 and the July 3 feature at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, S.D. Swindell won two races at the Duel in the Dakotas at Red River Valley Speedway, capturing Thursday's opener and Saturday's feature.
