SWINDELL CAPTURES MORGAN HUGHES NATIONAL AT WILLIAMS GROVE

MECHANICSBURG, Penn. (Oct. 4, 2010) -- Sammy Swindell ended two streaks and collected $50,000 as he won the Morgan Hughes National Open World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series race at Williams Grove Speedway.

Swindell had not won at the Grove since the 2000 racing campaign and, as a WoO regular, he ended the string of nine wins by the so-called Pennsylvania Posse in WoO events.

Goodyear is the Official Tiremaker for the WoO series and is the exclusive tire supplier for the rear positions of the WoO cars. Goodyear is also the tire supplier for weekly sprint car programs all around the nation. That includes Williams Grove and other tracks in Pennsylvania.

Lance Dewease finished second, followed by Jason Meyers, Stevie Smith and Jason Sides. Swindell qualified first in the field of 56 cars with a lap 107.940 mph.

Greg Hodnett won the opening night feature, followed by Tim Shaffer, Paul McMahan, Mike Erdley and Smith. Dave Gravel qualified at the front of the entry with a lap of 105.228 mph.

The weekend's end left Meyers leading the Outlaws' standings with 8,741 points. Steve Kinser is next with 8,639.
