HAUDENSCHILD, TATNELL WIN HALL OF FAME CLASSIC RACES AT KNOXVILLE

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 7, 2010) -- If you want to hold a race on Hall of Fame Weekend, you might as well send a Hall of Famer to win it.

Jac Haudenschild, a 2009 inductee into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, won the second main event of a three-race weekend when he narrowly held off Brian Brown during the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Hall of Fame Classic at Knoxville Raceway. Haudenschild had to overcome two restarts with two laps remaining in order to beat Brown.

Brooke Tatnell won the opening night's main event. The third race of the weekend was knocked out by rain.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire supplier for the rear wheel positions of the WoO sprint car competitors. The front wheel positions are open to competition among tiremakers, though most of the teams elect to use Goodyear Eagles up front.

Racing in the shadow of the sports' Hall of Fame, Haudenschild collected his 53rd career WoO victory. Haudenschild was not in attendance when he was inducted in 2009, due to racing commitments, so this victory was well-timed. Brown finished second to Haudenschild, followed by Tyler Walker, Lucas Wolfe and Kerry Madsen.

Tatnell's win was his 10th in WoO racing and his first since 2008. He beat Jason Myers by just .761 of a second. Sammy Swindell finished third, followed by Jason Sides and Joey Saldana.

The weekend attracted 46 cars to the half-mile Knoxville oval, which will play host to the annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals in August.
