BEAVER DAM, WI (Sept. 30)-Kenny Jacobs made an early-race move by Danny Smith to win the 30-lap feature event at Superior Speedway on Friday night. Jacobs utilized the same move by Shane Stewart on lap five of tonight's 40-lap feature event at The Raceway at Powercom Park to pick up his second Gumout Racing Series victory. Jacobs' double win earned him $10,000 for his efforts throughout the weekend.

Jacobs started outside front row for the "A" Feature, alongside pole sitter Shane Stewart. Stewart dove low on the start taking the early lead. Jacobs chose the high side of the track to hold onto the second position. As Jacobs moved closer to Stewart, Jeff Shepard in the York Excavating/CAT Construction #4J joined the battle. Lap four saw Jacobs take the lead from Stewart coming out of turn two. Stewart retaliated in turn four to remain the lap leader. Jacobs gained momentum on the top of the track to once again take the lead from Stewart. Stewart moved into the second position, followed by Shepard, Danny Smith, and Jerrod Hull.

Just as Jacobs entered lapped traffic, Donny Goeden flipped hard in turn one. Brad Furr then collided with the #27G of Goeden. Both drivers were uninjured, but their night was over. On the restart, Hull made a move by Smith to take over the fourth position. Stewart moved to the high side as he began to close in on the leader.

Lap 11 brought out the first caution of the night as Blake Feese, Kraig Kinser, and Steve Meyer collided low in turn four. All three drivers were able to restart on the tail. Shepard moved into the second position on the restart, pushing Stewart back to third. Fifth running Paul McMahan began to battle Smith for the fourth position on lap 13. Lapped traffic came back into play on lap 17. Shepard began closing the gap on the race leader. Jacobs continued to race on the high side in turns one and two, as Shepard hugged the bottom. Both drivers struggled with lapped traffic, allowing Jacobs to eventually make-up ground on Shepard. Stewart joined the battle and on lap 24 passed Shepard to claim second position. Shepard continued to fall back then, as Hull, Smith and McMahan all passed Shepard on lap 26. By lap 29, Stewart was on Jacobs' tail. Two laps later however, Stewart spun to a stop high in turn two.

The lap 31 restart saw Jacobs leading, now followed by Hull, Shepard, Smith, and McMahan. Smith moved by Shepard to claim the third position. Hull moved up to battle Jacobs for the lead. Jimmy Carter brought out the second red of the night as he flipped on the backstretch. Carter was not able to restart. The restart allowed Shepard to reclaim the third position from Smith. Jason Meyers, running in sixth position, found the high groove allowing him to pass McMahan, Smith and Shepard in the remaining six laps of the feature event. Jacobs held on for the win, followed by Hull, Meyers, Smith and McMahan.

Jeff Shepard picked up his eighth Huggins Fast Time Award with a record-breaking time of 11.863. Jason Statler earned the KSE Hard Charger Award by passing 14 cars en route to a 12th place finish.

Bob Bennett in the Acme TrailerWorks #3B and Jason Statler in the DFRios #00 both used provisionals to start in 25th and 26th positions respectively.

The Gumout Racing Series now travels to The Dirt Track at Lowe's Motor Speedway to compete with the Pennzoil World of Outlaws on Oct. 5th and 6th.
