The Outdoor Channel to 'Outlaw' Indy Busch Race

TEMECULA, CA (July 6) -- The Outdoor Channel, a majority-owned subsidiary of Outdoor Channel Holdings, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: OUTD), and sponsor of the Busch Series Chevrolet fielded by BACE Motorsports, will spotlight its World Of Outlaws Sprint Series television partnership August 7th at Indianapolis Raceway Park

The California-based outdoor lifestyle network will wrap the #74 of World of Outlaws Sprint Series driver and California native Tyler Walker in an "Outlaws on Outdoor" paint scheme for the NASCAR Busch Series event at IRP.

Walker, the 2002 World of Outlaws Gumout Series Champion, scored a Preliminary Feature from the pole in the 2004 season opener at Manzanita Speedway. The fourth-generation open wheel driver is now focused on making his mark on the stock car circuit. Walker got a taste of the NASCAR ranks in 2003 with a trio of solid runs in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (Las Vegas, Richmond and Homestead) and has most recently assisted driver Kasey Kahne by filling in for practice and qualifying in the #38 Busch Series entry.

The Outdoor Channel is the broadcast home of the World of Outlaws Sprint Series in 2004, presenting over 30 races this season, each airing Wednesday night at 8:00 pm EDT. Currently, the World of Outlaws is in the midst of its marathon schedule with a tight points battle between 18-time champion Steve Kinser and Danny "The Dude" Lasoski.

"Audience response has been tremendous since we've added World of Outlaws Sprint Series to our Wednesday Night Horsepower block," said Wade Sherman, Senior Vice President of The Outdoor Channel. "What better city than Indianapolis, the home of open wheel racing, to run a World of Outlaws paint scheme and serve notice to the racing community that The Outdoor Channel is the new TV home of the Outlaws.

"We're excited to have a previous World of Outlaws winner behind the wheel for this race. Tyler has enjoyed great success in his growth through the World of Outlaws ranks, and has started to make his mark on pavement with his participation in the NASCAR Busch and Craftsman Truck Series. His aggressive style and determination typify the mindset of the Outlaw racer, and we're pleased to play a key role in his transition to one of NASCAR's premier divisions."

"To climb behind the wheel of The Outdoor Channel Chevrolet at IRP is a big deal for me," Walker said. "The coolest thing is to be tabbed to represent the World of Outlaws in a prominent NASCAR event with one of the most successful teams in Busch Series history. It's great to be a part of a program that blends together two outstanding series and it's great to be a part of The Outdoor Channel's commitment to both."

"We're thrilled to have a partnership with a sponsor who truly embraces all forms of motorsports," added BACE Motorsports owner Bill Baumgardner. "In addition to supporting our efforts in the Busch Series, The Outdoor Channel has climbed out of the box to invest in bringing The World of Outlaws to a new group of viewers. We're proud to be part of the effort to raise awareness of The Outdoor Channel's Outlaws partnership by putting one of their rising stars behind the wheel in Tyler Walker."

Based in Temecula, CA, The Outdoor Channel is a national cable network dedicated to providing the best in traditional outdoor programming to America's 60 million anglers and hunters. The Outdoor channel, currently reaching over 26 million homes through a combination of cable subscribers and satellite dish viewers, features over 100 weekly hunting and fishing series in addition to rodeo, and motorsports programming.
