Lucas Wolfe World of Outlaws Injury Update
Concord, NC-- June 11, 2008--Lucas Wolfe, the leading contender with for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award with the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, will be out indefinitely after sustaining a fractured T-4 Vertebrae in his back at Tri-City Speedway in Illinois on June 8.
Wolfe returned home on Tuesday to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania where he is awaiting another doctor's visit to receive further prognosis and an estimated time of recovery.
"I'm hoping this is brief and I can get back out there soon," he optimistically said.
Wolfe is currently 14th in Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship points on the strength of four Top-10 finishes. He finished a season-best fifth at Williams Grove Speedway on May 15. The Allebach Racing team for whom he drives has also returned to Pennsylvania and will not return to action until Wolfe is healed and ready to race again.
"It's difficult because this is the time of the year that we were beginning to race more and we were getting in a good rhythm," he noted. "We'll be back though."
