Titan Racing USA, Inc. and Daryn Pittman to Compete for 2005 WoO Championship
November 15, 2004 - Titan Racing USA, Inc. and Daryn Pittman are please to announce their plans to compete for the 2005 World of Outlaws Championship. Titan Racing, led by owner Reeve Kruck, has been a dominant force in Australian Sprint Car Racing for the last decade. Kruck, owner of Titan Garages and Carports, fielded the car that won the 2002-03 World Series Sprintcars Championship driven by Pittman. Together Pittman and Kruck have won 14 races in Australia over a three-year period. This success has motivated Kruck to expand his professional racing operation to Brownsburg, Indiana, marking the first time an Australian-based car will compete for the WoO Championship. When asked why Kruck has decided to expand his racing program to the United States, he explained, "The World of Outlaws drivers are the best in the World. I want to run the Formula One of Sprint Car Racing and everyone knows that is the Outlaws. I could keep running around Australia with all the drama, power games and rubbish they go on with here, or I can look at Steve Kinser and say, "He's the best in the World. I want to race that dude!" Sure, the Outlaws may have their own dramas as well, but they get on with it and race. That is what I want to do, go racing and have some fun," said Kruck.
The Titan Racing machine will be a black No. 21 and the team will run a Maxim Chassis in 2005. The Titan motor program will consist of several engine builders to provide the necessary horsepower to compete with the WoO. "We currently have purchased three Gaerte Engines, two Kriners and are looking to add at least two more to the program. Reeve is committed to making sure we have the trailer full of the horsepower whenever we leave the shop," said Pittman.
Pittman knows horsepower alone will not get the job done. "Glenno Inglis will be staying on as crew chief for Titan Racing. Glenno has worked for Reeve for over seven years now back in Australia. He and I have worked together here in the States for three years and we both know what it takes to get the job done. We also hired Richie Wagner to help out too. I think the three of us will make a pretty strong team," said Pittman. Wagner has previous experience working for Al Hamilton and Danny Lasoski.
For the past three seasons Pittman has piloted the Sherdon Motorsports No. 21 Pepsi, Hop & Sack Convenience Store machine owned by Donnie and Sherie Woodburn on the World of Outlaws (WoO) tour. "I want to personally thank Donnie and Sherie for giving me the opportunity to drive their racecar. At the time they hired me, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to race ever again. We were really down on our luck, not to mention our budget, and they gave me a great opportunity. We won twelve races together in those three years, nine of those being WoO A-Mains. I have been racing with Reeve during the winter in Australia and he approached me with this new opportunity. This is something I couldn't pass up and they both knew that. Donnie and Sherie have been great to me and we not only have a great working relationship, but they have become very close friends with my wife and family. I am very pleased to announce they are coming on board with their Hop & Sack Convenience Stores as an associate sponsor on the Titan Garages and Carports car," said Pittman.
Kruck has been a very successful businessman in life and expects no less from the Titan Racing team. "I have told them that I expect them to be in the top five in points. I have given them the necessary equipment, budget and team to get the job done. I have put a top-notch driver in the seat so there should be no excuses. I believe we are doing the right things to win races and have a team capable of doing that. At the end of the day I want to park my car next to Steve Kinser and Danny Lasoski and know that I am racing against the best in the business. And I want to beat them too!" said Kruck.
