World of Outlaws Sprint Series Gearing Up for Events in March at Phoenix and Tucson

PHOENIX (January 19) -- There might be snow on the ground in much of the country, but the racing action is right around the corner as the World of Outlaws Sprint Series is gearing up to invade Arizona's two premier dirt tracks the first weekend in March.

The green flag waves on the Third Annual Cactus Classic March 3 at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, followed March 4 by the World of Outlaws inaugural appearance at the picturesque United Sports Arizona Race Park in Tucson, with both events being filmed by The Outdoor Channel.

SLS Promotions is proud to keep the Arizona tradition of the World of Outlaws alive and is stepping it up for the 2006 version. Joining the World of Outlaws at both venues will be complete shows with the Arizona Midget Racing Association. The mighty midgets will be on the third-mile at Manzanita while the sprints will run the big half-mile. Joining forces with the World of Outlaws portion both nights will be the Sprint Car Owners of Arizona (SCOA) creating what should be the biggest field of 410 sprinters in years to go trackside in Arizona. In addition United Sports Arizona's own USA Sprinters join the show on Saturday.

Mean 15 racer Craig Dollansky hopes to repeat his visit to Manzanita's Victory Lane after capturing the 2005 March visit in the VMAC/Karavan J&J.

So shake off the winter and come join us in the sun for the Third Annual Cactus Classic at Manzanita featuring WoO and SCOA Sprints, plus the AMRA Midgets. Adult tickets from $28. Then on Saturday March 4, the World of Outlaws make their debut on the United Sports Arizona Race Park 3/8-mile oval joined by SCOA & USA sprints, plus the AMRA Midgets. Adult tickets from $30.

Tickets go on sale for these shows Thurdsay, Jan. 19, and can be purchased over the phone by calling SLS Promotions at 815-344-2023. Office hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Central. Check out the complete line-up of SLS promoted events at www.slspromotions.com or at www.dirtmotorsports.com.
