A Look at the World of Outlaws Championship Standings Heading into the World Finals

Concord, NC-October 17, 2010- Just two races remain on the calendar for the World of Outlaws as the ultra competitive 2010 campaign winds down with the World Finals November 4-6. Jason Meyers leads four-time and defending series champion Donny Schatz by 96 points following Saturday night's event at Tri-State Speedway in Indiana, with 20-time series champion Steve Kinser third, 100 markers back.

Meyers finished ninth at Haubstadt to pick up his 54th Top-10 finish of the season. The native of Clovis, California has finished in the Top-10 in 23 of the last 25 race, dating back to end of July. He has won a career-high 10 A-Feature events so far this season and has 34 Top-Five finishes. Meyers has earned more qualifying bonus points, which are awarded to the Top-Five in time trials each night, than any other driver, which marks the second consecutive year he has led the series in that department.

Schatz, who led the first 21 laps of the main event at Tri-State Speedway, finished fourth to move into second in points, which is the highest he has been in the standings since the fourth race of the season when he was tied with his teammate Kinser for the point lead. Schatz, who has won five times this season, has picked up 52 Top-10 finishes with 36 of those being Top-Fives.

Kinser rebounded to finish 10th on Saturday night after getting caught up in an accident with a couple of laps remaining. He leads the series with 56 Top-10 finishes and 38 Top-Fives. The Indiana native has visited Victory Lane nine times to bring his amazing career total to 561 with the World of Outlaws in A-Feature events. The Hall of Famer is third in points, just four markers behind his teammate Schatz.

Joey Saldana finished second at Tri-State Speedway for the second consecutive year and remains fourth in points. He leads the series with 13 A-Feature wins and has amassed 48 Top-10 finishes and 37 Top-Five performances. He is just 18 points behind Kinser for third and 22 behind Schatz for second.

Jason Sides finished seventh on Saturday night to earn his 51st Top-10 finish of the season to remain fifth in points. Paul McMahan, who was third at Haubstadt, is just eight points behind Sides as the pair battles for the fifth spot. McMahan has racked up 49 Top-10 finishes this season filling in for the injured Cody Darrah at Kasey Kahne Racing.

Craig Dollansky used his win at Tri-State Speedway to remain seventh in points, with Lucas Wolfe eighth, Danny Lasoski ninth and Kraig Kinser, who finished eighth on Saturday night, rounding out the Top-10.

The World of Outlaws return to action November 4-6 with the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina, with the finale on November 6 airing live on SPEED beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern.
