STARKS SET FOR NEW CHALLENGES IN CALIFORNIA
Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (March 28) – This weekend will be full of new experiences for Trey Starks, who relishes the challenges.
Starks will start 12th on Thursday in the rain-delayed World of Outlaws’ feature at Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif.
“It’s gonna be a little bit different,” the 15-year-old from Puyallup, Wash., said. “But I’m excited for how far up we’re starting.”
On March 18 – the original date of the race – Starks qualified a career best eighth and eventually finished second in the B Main to transfer to the feature before it was washed out.
Although he is unsure of what to expect from the race program or the track preparation, Starks is more than ready to surpass his World of Outlaws’ career-best finish of 17th.
“I want to move forward and maybe get a top 10,” he said.
Starks will then compete with the World of Outlaws on Friday at Merced Speedway in Merced, Calif., and Saturday at the famed Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga, Calif. – both tracks he’s never raced at.
“It sounds fast and exciting,” Starks said of Calistoga Speedway. “It sounds like it’s going to be a horsepower track.”
In his last five races with the World of Outlaws, Starks has advanced to the feature four times. Despite only attending half of the events this season, he is 21st in the World of Outlaws standings.
