TIFFIN, OH (June 20)-Bob Wente, owner of Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, has posted an additional $3,000 to the winner of the Gumout Racing Series event scheduled for June 28th.

The thirty-lap feature event will now offer $8,000-to-win, $500-to start. The Gumout Racing Series event at Tri-City Speedway, is the fourth night of competition in a string of five races throughout Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana.

Paul McMahan, driver of the United Expressline #U2, leads the series into the intense week of competition as the series' point leader. McMahan took the Gumout Racing Series point lead from Jeff Shepard during the three-day Pennzoil World of Outlaws event at Heartland Park Topeka. McMahan leads Shepard by three points. Three top five finishes in a row, boosted Karavan Racing's Craig Dollansky back into the point lead battle. Dollansky trails Shepard by a mere 25 points.

The Brodix Rookie of the Year competition is heating up as California natives Jason Meyers and Brad Furr continuously swap point positions. Ronald Laney, currently seventh in Gumout Racing Series point standings, remains a contender for Brodix Rookie of the Year honors.

Randy Kinser makes his return to racing at Hartford Speedway on Friday June 23rd, after leg injuries he received at Bristol Motor Speedway earlier this month. Shane Stewart, Bob Bennett, and Indiana based Brian Carlson will also be on hand at all five of the Gumout Racing Series upcoming events.

The Gumout Racing Series Midwest swing commences at Hartford Speedway, in Hartford, Michigan on Friday June 23rd. The series wraps-up the five-race, eight-day tour on Friday, June 30th at Terre Haute Action Track.
