Wild Wild Northwest tour falls to wild wild Northwest rain

The second race of the 2000 Wild Wild Northwest Tour featuring the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series scheduled for Grays Harbor Raceway Park in Elma, WA fell to the weather when a heavy rain storm flooded an already wet facility. After receiving heavy early morning rain, crews had worked through the day to get the pit area and track ready for the opening night of the two day program with nearly $85,000 on line. Shortly after the pit meeting as drivers and crews were readying for hot laps the skies again opened with heavy rain. With additional rain forecast for later in the night, the program was canceled. The two day program has now been moved to Saturday and Sunday. Tickets purchased for Friday and Saturday will now be honored on Saturday and Sunday. Day of race tickets may also be purchased at the race track. Tickets will go on sale at 2:00 PM both days with racing tentatively scheduled to start at approximately 6:00pm on Saturday and racing on Sunday id scheduled to getunderway at 5:00 PM. Following the Grays Harbor Raceway Park show, the tour will move to State Fair Raceway in Yakima, WA on Tuesday, August 22 and then To Riverside Speedway in Cottage Grove, OR on August 29th. Updates will be posted on the Grays Harbor Raceway Park page of Brownfield Promotions, Inc. web site at www.brownfieldent.com if there are any changes made to the schedule.
