ALLEN, TX (February 15) - The World of Outlaws Gumout Series' second season will feature 37 events over 52 dates at 22 tracks in 15 states, World of Outlaws Founder and President Ted Johnson announced Thursday.

"The Gumout Series was a tremendous success last year, and we're looking for it to improve even more this season," Johnson said. "The series provides valuable experience for the young racers. Some Gumout drivers performed well in Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series races last year and Paul McMahan is jumping to the big series this year.

"We're going to some of the tracks that have supported us through the years and added some new ones. We're negotiating with other tracks and will add dates to the original schedule. We're glad to have the Gumout Series teams race with us at some of our events televised live on TNN."

Lernerville Speedway, which hosted the inaugural Gumout Series race, will again be the site of the season opener. The series will visit Lernerville more than any other facility -- three times -- starting with the April 20th opener.

The Gumout Series, directed by former World of Outlaws racer and official Rick Ferkel, will offer more than $165,000 in point fund and contingency awards. Craig Dollansky received more than $50,000 for winning the inaugural series championship.

Ferkel has added Feature sponsors Gaerte Engines and JB Enterprises and Rookie of the Year sponsor All-Pro Heads to the original nine sponsors from the inaugural season. Winters Performance Products is another Feature sponsor, while Huggins Cams sponsors the Fast-Time Award and Weld Racing sponsors the dash race. Eagle Chassis, Maxim Chassis and J&J Chassis sponsor the heat races, while Hank's Performance supports the "B" Feature and KSE sponsors the Hard Charger Award. Brodix is another Gumout Series Rookie of the Year sponsor.
