The Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team heads to the Nation's Capital this weekend, June 21 -22, to compete in the third round of the Global Rallycross Championship at the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds. The Volkswagen Rallycross DC event marks the first live motorsports event in D.C. in over a decade. The 10 Turn, .49-mile track features 25% dirt and 75% tarmac surfaces. Both drivers are looking to continue their start of the season in front of Volkswagen employees and fans, just a few short miles from the manufacturer's US headquarters. Volkswagen Rallycross DC will air live on NBC this Sunday, June 22 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Scott Speed (in photo), No. 77 7UP Volkswagen Polo:

•Speed sits 27 points ahead of the competition in the driver's championship.

•The 31-year-old will be a favorite heading into Volkswagen Rallycross DC.

"We have a ton of momentum going with us going into the Volkswagen Rallycross DC event. Now coming off two wins in Barbados and X Gams Austin, we have a great lead in the points hunt. We just need to stick with our game plan that we have set in place from the beginning, worry about our race and make sure the No.77 7UP Volkswagen pushes to the front of the pack. I'm super stoked to be going to Washington, D.C., it's going to be an awesome race. Hopefully we can put on a great show for Andretti and Volkswagen this weekend."

Tanner Foust, No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Polo:

•After suffering a race ending incident at X Games Austin, Foust hopes to put the Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen on the front line in the Nation's Capital.

•Foust currently sits 13th in the championship point hunt.

"I went to high school in Washington, D.C., so for me, this is as much of a hometown race as it gets - especially with this being a Volkswagen event. I'll have a lot of great friends and family at the track supporting us on the Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team. It's been a pretty tough start to the season in Global Rallycross for me this year with both of my incidents in Barbados and X Games, but I'm looking forward to getting the monkey off my back in front of a friendly crowd in D.C."
