Jordan to make World Rallycross return at Lydden Hill

The British driver began his career in rallycross before switching to circuit racing, but hasn’t raced in the sport since the Italian round of the World RX series in 2015. 

He will deputise for regular MJP Racing driver Timo Scheider at Lydden, the German forced to miss the British round due to a clashing commitment. 

“I spoke to Max [Pucher, MJP team owner] a few weeks ago and it’s all come together really quickly, it’s a bit unexpected really,” Jordan told Motorsport.com.

“The team’s cars were very quick last year. I know they’re working hard and they are hungry to move things on to keep progressing.

"Obviously the level is going up all the time, but I think we can mix it for sure. If I could get into the final that would be a really good achievement, then it’s just elbows out and see where you get to.” 

Jordan began his racing career in rallycross before switching to circuit racing, winning the BTCC title in 2013.

He returned to rallycross at his home round of World RX in 2014 driving a Ford Fiesta for the OlsbergsMSE team and finished on the podium.

A year later, he set fastest time in Q3 at the same circuit, racing a Peugeot 208 for Team Peugeot-Hansen.

He also deputised for Mattias Ekstrom in the Swede’s EKS squad at Franciacorta in Italy, but was forced out on the opening day with technical troubles. 

“As a Brit to do my home World Championship event is something I’m really proud of," Jordan added.

"Out of anything I’ve done, standing on the podium at Lydden was definitely one of the coolest things in my career.”
