A strong start. On his second outing with the WRC version Oliveira showed great improvements with the car’s handling. Early this morning the Bahian driver had already speeded up in the Shakedown where he missed the chance to be on a top-ten result by just three seconds.

What to expect tomorrow? After completing this first section of race, tomorrow Oliveira will have to face the challenge of some of the most demanding stages such as El Condor and Giulio Cesare. One of the biggest situations to cope with on these stages is the sandy surface that could make rocks being pulled onto the road by the competing cars and the ruts formed after the first pass. Also, this year El Condor stage features a longest run that includes a tarmac section which must be tackled with the Michelin’s gravel tyres.

Event info. The leader of the Championship Sebastien Loeb (Citroen) claimed the stage victory with 2m25,9s. The Frenchman took advantage over Petter Solberg (Citroen) by 0,9s. whereas Sebastien Ogier (Citroen) came in third position just a tenth behind.

Facts and numbers. For the second day of action there are six stages scheduled totalizing 159,46 of competitive kilometres. SS2 starts at 9:36 a.m. Number 12 MINI of Daniel Oliveira will be the tenth car on the road.

The Brazil WRT driver Daniel Oliveira said:

“Everything is going well so far and with no major troubles. We made a cautious approach to this first stage trying to set a normal pace to warm up. This is my first time competing in Argentina as a priority driver and I’m happy this is it by driving the MINI John Cooper Works WRC.

I like this rally a lot and I must say the real race starts tomorrow with three difficult stages such as El Mirador, Giulio Cesare and the mix-surfaced downhill stage from Copina to Cuesta Blanca.

This is my second outing with the WRC version since our debut in Rally d’Italia and the plan is to try to round off a good day and to gain many kilometres with the car”.
