Sordo became the second non-VW stage winner of the event in SS20 after Thierry Neuville going quickest in the opening test of the event.

The Spaniard beat the trio of Ott Tanak, Jari-Matti Latvala and Hayden Paddon by just half a second with Ogier only taking eighth.

However, the latter improved his time in the second run by 2.6s and ended up in first, beating Sordo, rally leader Latvala and Martin Prokop.

The duo of Ogier and Sordo ended up in the top two in the Super Street stage as well, the Frenchman going four tenths quicker than the one-time WRC winner.

Paddon and Latvala set identical times in third and fourth with Mads Ostberg completing the top five of the stage.

With the field being covered by less than four seconds in all three tests, the overall classification remained unchanged with Latvala leading by 1m35.7s.

Rally Mexico will conclude tomorrow with the marathon 80 km run and the Power Stage.
