After Daniel’s summer break after taking part in Portugal, Argentina and Greece’s rounds, this fourth outing for the Brazilian driver and his Portuguese co-dr iver on board the Stohl Racing-run Ford Fiesta WRC will take them to their first asphalt challenge this season.

However, this won’t be first time for the BWRT crew members running on sealed surfaces this year. They come to this event with much more experience compared to their debut in Germany 2011 as they have already entered three asphalt events in the Argentine and Austrian National Championships.

“For sure these all little experiences on asphalt help to get a good grip on the car’s handling on this surface; but this is a much longer and tougher event. I ran the Ford Fiesta Regional Car for some kilometres in Austria It’s a car I’m more familiar with and running it could be a shortcut to come up with a fine-tune ca r for the next weekend” said Oliveira.

Rally of Germany is a tarmac rally like no other with all three days of the event held in different types of sealed surfaces and, this year it will feature a revised itinerary which includes longer Special Stages to celebrate the 10th anniversary since they joined the WRC in 2002.

Mainly run in the wine-producing Mosel region, in the federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, this rally features a great variety of road conditions. From the narrow and undulating roads of the vineyards stages -characterized by long straights and 180 degrees junctions-, to the slippery and dusty stage of the Baumholder military training area with giant boulders lining the route. There are also the wide and fast sections through the Saarland’s woodland where drivers can speed up.

"All you may have heard about the different sorts of asphalt you will find during this event it’s true. You have to pay a lot of attention, stick to your notes and, never forget how difficult this event could be”, said Oliveira.
