Horsey targets a strong finish in Finland

Kenyan Pirelli Star Drive recipient Peter Horsey and his Welsh based co-driver Calvin Cooledge aim to use the experience of contesting the recent Rally Estonia to good effect when the pair tackle this weekend's high speed World Rally Championship Neste Oil Rally Finland in their Ralliart Italy run Mitsubishi Evo X.

Horsey, born in Kenya but now based in Uganda, and Ruthin resident Cooledge competed on Rally Estonia recently in order to become familiar with the fast and flowing nature of the roads which are very similar to the ones which the pair will tackle this weekend. And after ending the three day event ninth in the production class Horsey is confident that the lessons he learnt will help him on this weekend's rally, the third of his six scheduled World Rally Championship events.

Estonia was a bit of an acclimatisation event as Calvin had never sat with me before but we both learnt a lot about each other and I gained so much experience of the unique nature of the events! The high speeds are something that I am used to as our rallies back home are very quick^a but the technical nature and blind crests sure take getting used to!

Once again our aim is purely to get to the finish of the rally without using super rally and, as this is the first time we go head to head with the PWRC regulars, it will be interesting to compare times with the best in the category!

The 2010 Neste Oil Rally Finland is the 60th running of this classic event and has attracted a strong entry from around the world. No less than 120 entries have been received for this popular rally. After a super special stage on the Thursday evening the rally proper takes place over 18 special stages with a ceremonial finish and concert in Jyvaskyla on the Saturday evening.
