Notes: - Tommi Makinen, driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV has won the 1998 International Rally of Sweden - four different manufacturers in the top 4 places! 1st = Mitsubishi 2nd = Toyota 3rd = Ford 4th = Subaru - while Makinen backed off the pace a little, Sainz played the game of catch up at which he is so good; he won 4 of the days five stages and after Kankkunen hit a snowbank on SS17, Sainz claimed 2nd place - an excellent result for a non-nordic driver. - an electrical problem cost Auriol (Corolla) almost 2-1/2 mins on SS16
Current Weather Conditions: plently of snow except where stages have been run twice; mostly cloudy current temp = 1 deg C
