Symtech Racing nominated for the 2011 PMW Expo "Rally Achievement of the Year" Award
Having won the Production World Rally Championship (PWRC) title with Hayden Paddon, Belgian team Symtech Racing has been included in the list of shortlisted nominees for the PMW Expo "Rally Achievement of the Year" Award. This award is handed out by prestigious motorsport magazine Professional Motorsport World, whose publisher is also the organiser of the PMW Expo 2011 that takes place at Cologne from 15-17 November.
Professional Motorsport World readers and journalists voted to shortlist Symtech Racing in the "Rally Achievement of the Year" nominations, together with three other top rally teams: Citroën Racing, M-Sport and Mini WRC Team. The winner of the prestigious award will be revealed on 15 November during a gala dinner at PMW Expo, in the presence of over 850 motorsport professionals and international journalists.
Dirk Van der Sluys (Symtech Racing) commented: "It was a fantastic surprise to discover that we were nominated for the PMW Expo "Rally Achievement of the Year" Award. We have worked hard with Hayden all year long and this nomination is a great reward for us. We personally develop and prepare all our cars, ensuring high levels of performance and reliability. Our car is one of the fastest in the PWRC category and it has suffered very few mechanical gremlins throughout the season. You need a perfect car and a coherent team to secure a large number of wins at this level, which is the case for us. Nothing can be left to chance. We have a very competitive package now and a lot of people have recognised this."
Wim De Boeck (Symtech Racing) commented: "Of course we are pleased and also highly honoured to have been nominated along with three very prestigious teams for this award. I'm glad that a young Belgian team like Symtech Racing has already been able to gain such a great acknowledgment at international level. Thanks to a fantastic result this year we are now the third Belgian team to have won an official FIA world title. All our people are highly motivated and we have proved that we have a very good technical understanding of what it takes to succeed. We look forward to the future knowing that our team is ready to face any challenge."
