For the first time in four years admission prices for national championship events at AA Kyalami will be increased during the 2002 season.
AA Racing managing director Swanepoel said this week admission prices at AA Kyalami this year will be increased from R30 per adult to R35 per adult. Children under 12 will continue to be admitted to the circuit free of charge.
“ The admission price at AA Kyalami has not shown an increase since the start of the 1999 season, but we are no longer able to keep the price of tickets at this level,” Swanepoel said.“ It is with great reluctance that we have been forced to increase gate admission to R35 per adult.
“ Although times are hard across the board, we feel the increase is not unreasonable and that AA Kyalami prices still compare favourably with the cost of other sporting and family entertainment.”
Swanepoel added that race programmes for AA Kyalami events this year provided for an exciting line-up that would produce high quality entertainment. National championship events at the Midrand circuit include a mix of modified and standard saloon cars, singleseaters, sports cars and superbikes.
“ There is something for everyone in the race programmes, and we are looking forward to another good year,” Swanepoel said.“ We have had tremendous support from motorsport enthusiasts in the past, and are confident this will continue to be the case.”

February 23 - Wesbank SAMCAR Series; Superbikes; Production Cars; Formula Ford Vodacom Sports Prototype; VW Cup; Vodacom Isondo Sports 2000.
May 18 - Wesbank SAMCAR Series; Superbikes; Production Cars; Formula Ford; Vodacom Sports Prototype; VW Cup; Vodacom Isondo Sports 2000.
August 3 - Wesbank SAMCAR Series; Superbikes; Production Cars; Formula Ford; Vodacom Sports Prototype; Vodacom Isondo Sports 2000.
November 23 - Wesbank SAMCAR Series; Superbikes; Production Cars; Formula Ford; Vodacom Sports Prototype; VW Cup; Vodacom Isondo Sports 2000.
