Daytona Int'l Speedway names Gurtis operations VP

ANDREW GURTIS NAMED VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS AT DIS

Daytona Beach, Fla. -- Andrew Gurtis, who has worked for more than 20 years at International Speedway Corporation, most recently serving as managing director of business operations at ISC, has been named vice president of operations at Daytona International Speedway, track president Robin Braig announced.

In his role that he assumes immediately, Gurtis will oversee the entire operations department of the 480-acre Daytona International Speedway which includes maintenance, security and emergency services.

"We're thrilled to welcome Andrew back to Daytona International Speedway," Braig said. "Andrew brings a broad spectrum of experiences to his new position that makes him an invaluable asset to the continued success and growth of Daytona International Speedway."

Since joining ISC in 1989, Gurtis has worked his way through the ranks and gained valuable experience in several different roles including Director of Marketing at Daytona International Speedway, Director of Licensing at ISC and later Vice President at Daytona International Speedway and President at Darlington Raceway before moving back to the Daytona Beach area in his most recent role.

Active in the community, he currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board for Stewart-Marchman-Act Behavioral Healthcare as well as a Board member of the SMA Foundation. Past involvements in the Halifax area include the American Red Cross, Bike Week Task Force, Junior Achievement and Rotary.

Born and raised in Winter Park, Gurtis is a native Floridian and a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He resides in Ormond Beach with his wife Aimee, sons Alex and Jack and daughter Morgan.
