FORT WORTH - The Extreme Monster Truck Nationals presented by monstertrucks.com are set to finish the 2000 season at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track Oct. 27-29.

The event will unleash more than 16,000 horsepower as ten of the nation's top monster trucks decimate a race course filled with treacherous obstacles, incredible ramps and plenty of cars waiting to be crushed at the Dirt Track.

"We've enjoyed an incredible year with the Extreme Monster Truck Nationals, said Terry Dickerson, president of Milestone Motorsports Marketing. "It's great to have the opportunity to finish the season at a facility like Texas Motor Speedway. Everyone is excited about racing here."

The event is scheduled to begin with a private party for Texas Motor Speedway season ticket holders Friday, Oct. 27. The evening will consist of a pit party, food and beverage discounts and great monster racing.

On Saturday, Oct. 28 and Sunday, Oct. 29 Texas Motor Speedway will open the gates to the public as the monsters do battle in the final two events on the Extreme Monster Truck Nationals schedule.

In addition to the EMTN season finale, the event will also be one of the final stops on the Bigfoot 25th anniversary tour.

The Extreme Monster Truck Nationals began a 13-event tour at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a sister track to Texas Motor Speedway, in March. The schedule included events at racing venues from Missouri to California.

Gates are set to open at 6 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. for the season ticket holder party this Friday. The gate and event times are also set for 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday gates are set to open at 1 p.m. with racing at 2:30 p.m.

For more information or to purchase tickets please contact Texas Motor Speedway at (817) 215-8500.
