January 22, 2011 (Oxford, CT USA)) You can't miss it! You won't miss it. It's a 'Marren-red' Porsche 997 hitting the laps at Daytona Speedway on January 27th at the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge in the GS Class. Marren Motor Sports signature car will be making the 3.56 mile, 12-turn speedway road course the first test for he Porsche at this international, season-opening sporting event.

Marren Motorsports is debuting the Porsche with seasoned drivers Joe Toussaint and Bob Beede. Tim Marren, President of Marren Motor Sports, shares the excitement with the new season, "We've raced in the Continental Tire Challenge before but only in the ST Class with our Honda. The Porsche is another level for our team to share their expertise in the fast lane at Daytona."

Team owner Tim Marren is excited to return to Daytona celebrating his 25th silver anniversary return to the track, but this time as a team owner. "Twenty five years later and I find myself here with my own team. To think twenty five years ago I was a crew member for Conti Racing GTP with John Paul Jr. and Bill Adams as drivers," Marren exclaimed.

Marren is also entering a second car, Honda No. 55 (also 'Marren-red') which placed just outside the Top Ten at the season ending race in Salt Lake City. "It is fun to have two different cars on the track. The Honda is aero-friendly and should perform well," Marren added.

The Marren Motorsports team of mechanics and technicians has been building the car and engine at Marren's headquarters in Oxford, CT, down the road from Lime Rock Race track.
