Grand-Am Cars:

SportsRacers: Open-cockpit machines featuring chassis from Cadillac, Ferrari, Riley & Scott and Kudzu. Powered by Chevrolet, Cadillac, Ferrari, Ford, Judd and Mazda engines. The cars are similar to the Can-Am machines that were prevalent at Mid-Ohio from 1970 to 1982. Divided into two divisions: SportsRacer and SportsRacer II. SportsRacers reach levels in the 650 horsepower range. SportsRacer IIs are powered by normally aspirated, six-cylinder engines.

GT: Divided into GTOs and GTUs. The GTO division features Chevrolet Corvettes, Dodge Vipers and Turbo Porsches powered by larger displacement engines developing approximately 650 horsepower. The GTU division showcases BMWs, normally aspirated Porsches, Porsche GT3s and Ferraris. These cars produce 450 horsepower.

American GT: Comprised of Chevrolet Camaros, Pontiac Firebirds, Dodge Daytonas and Ford Mustangs. These cars are purpose-built on tube-frame chassis similar to NASCAR Winston Cup Series cars and are powered by V-8 engines producing upward of 600 horsepower and weighing a minimum of 2550 lbs.

American City Racing League Cars:

All cars are open-cockpit, two-seat cars powered by Ford Cosworth four-cylinder engines. Chassis are typically an aluminum honeycomb monocoque. Cars are similar to Sports 2000 machines. Manufacturers include Carbir, Swift, Lola, Doran, Mallock, Van Diemen and Shrike.

Motorola Cup Cars:

All cars are two-seat street stock sportscars competing in four different categories (fastest to slowest): Super Grand Sports, Grand Sports, Sport-Touring and C2K. Super Grand Sports includes cars such as Dodge Vipers and Porsche 911s. Grand Sports includes cars like Chevrolet Camaros and Ford Mustang Cobras. Sports-Touring features machines like Honda Preludes and BMW Z3s. C2K has cars such as Honda Civic Si's and Mazda Miatas.

SCCA Pro Spec Racer Cars:

All cars are single-seat, open-cockpit, rear-engine vehicles built by SCCA Enterprises. All cars are identical with sealed 1.9-liter Ford engines built by Roush Racing.

SUPPORTING EVENT ACTIVITIES: Mid-Ohio Fan Appreciation Weekend

Race fans have the opportunity to win "VIP Race Experience" prizes on Saturday and Sunday. Prizes include a chance to wave the green flag to start one of the weekend's races, pace car rides, a VIP luncheon for 25 lucky fans and a guest, and a chance to watch U.S. Road Racing Classic action from the "esses" trackside announcers booth.

Fans ages 18 and over who are in attendance on Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, are eligible for the giveaways. Prize items take place on Saturday, June 3, and Sunday, June 4. Winners must be present to be eligible to claim prizes.
