VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY NAMES BOB AND GARY BAHRE TO MANAGEMENT POSITIONS

Las Vegas, Nev.-- Las Vegas Motor Speedway officials announced today an agreement with Bob and Gary Bahre, the father-son-tandem that has built its annual NASCAR Winston Cup Series weekend at the New Hampshire International Speedway into the largest sporting event in the New England region, to manage the 1,500-acre motorsports complex that includes the 102,000-seat superspeedway. The announcement was made today by Richie Clyne, chairman and chief executive officer of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, who named Bob Bahre the facility's president and Gary Bahre a vice-president. In their roles, the Bahre's will be responsible for the direction of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway staff on all facets of the day-to-day operation of the facility that includes the centerpiece 102,000-seat, 1.5 mile oval Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Bahre's have quietly built one of the finest racing facilities in the United States and are considered to be one of the most credible motorsports management teams in the country, said Clyne. What a lot of people may not be aware of is that Bob Bahre played an important role in the development of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from the get-go.

Now that the construction phase is nearly complete, I feel that both Bob and Gary bring experience and credibility that can only enhance the facility for future motorsports events and make the Las Vegas Motor Speedway the motorsports capital of the world. Bob Bahre, chairman of the board of the New Hampshire International Speedway, has more than 20 years of motorsports management experience while overseeing his construction, real estate and banking businesses. In 1989, he purchased the Bryar Motorsports Park property in Loudon, N.H. and later that same year broke ground on what was soon to became the first superspeedway built in the United States in more than 20 years. The New Hampshire International Speedway opened in June 1990 and the facility has hosted a NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division event annually. The facility hosted its first NASCAR Winston Cup Series event, New England's largest spectator sports event annually, in 1993. Beginning in 1997, New Hampshire International Speedway is hosting two NASCAR Winston Cup Series weekends. In addition to hosting NASCAR Winston Cup and NASCAR Busch Series events, the New Hampshire International Speedway hosts Indy Racing League, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, NASCAR Busch North, NASCAR Featherlite Modified and AMA events annually. It's been a rewarding experience working with Richie to see his dream become reality, said Bob Bahre. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the biggest earth-moving project in the state of Nevada since the construction of the Hoover Dam, has approximately 60 days of work left on its main facility. When completed, the complex will feature a total of 24 different racing venues, test facilities and an industrial park, including the 102,000 seat superspeedway. Since its 1996 opening, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway complex has scheduled IRL, NHRA, IMSA, NASCAR Busch Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck, NASCAR Winston West, NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Tour, World of Outlaw's and AMA Motorcycle events, as well as the weekly NASCAR Winston Racing Series program.
