CROWN ROYAL IROC RACE THREE PIT NOTES

DIS PRESIDENT ROBIN BRAIG SETS THE FIELD

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 24, 2006) -- Daytona International Speedway (DIS) President Robin Braig handled the chore of assigning race cars to the Crown Royal International Race of Champions' drivers for the series' road race at DIS this Thursday, June 29. The traditional blind draw, which takes place previous to every Crown Royal IROC race, took place on Friday after a three-day and night stint of equalizing and testing on the 3.56-mile road course.

"This is a unique schedule for the Crown Royal IROC team, which is due to the way the track (DIS) is booked this time of year. We were on track Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and we're not back on track until next Wednesday (June 28), and then we race on Thursday, so we had to do in three- days what normally takes us five-days to do as far as getting the race cars ready and equalized.

My thanks to Robin Braig for taking time out of his busy schedule to draw the cars for the drivers. That allows us to start getting the driver's custom built seats and specialized equipment installed and we'll also start getting the color and number graphics applied to the race cars."

The Crown Royal IROC drivers will practice from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28 at DIS in preparation for the 20-lap, 71.2-mile shoot out on the road course. Race three, of the four-race, All-Star series will be broadcast live on SPEED Channel at 10:00 p.m., EDT following the Brumos Porsche 250 on Thursday, June 29.
