MotoGP teams to test dashboard messages in Australia
MotoGP teams will test this weekend at Phillip Island a messaging system with which riders will be informed of certain parameters on a dashboard.

The system will be introduced in MotoGP next year, after it was first revealed in August that series organisers were working on such a system.
Team representatives met at the Motegi circuit last Thursday with members of the Teams' Association (IRTA) and the timing department from Dorna - the championship's promoter - in which they were informed of the possibilities of the system.
In the test, which will take place in each of the sessions, riders are unlikely to be able to see the messages, which will probably be stored to be analysed later.
All parties have asked the teams to send their proposals in order to complete a list of messages that can be displayed, which will include empty parameters to be filled by team engineers.
These messages will be extracted from the teams' computers and sent to race direction, which will then share them with the bikes automatically, although it will not have the ability to modify them.
IRTA's technical director Danny Aldridge told Motorsport.com: "For example, the riders will be able to know which tyres the spare bike is fitted with in the flag-to-flag races.
"The riders will, more or less, receive the same information that is already displayed on the pit boards, but they will also have the option not to see it. What the teams want is for them not to be distracted."
This is the starting point of an initiative that has been worked on for some time and that includes several phases, the last one expected to be the spectators receiving the same information on their TVs.
At Aragon, one of the safety cars was already running on track while receiving the messages sent from the control tower.
