RANGER WORKS ROAD COURSE MAGIC AGAIN, WINS ON GILLES VILLENEUVE TRACK

MONTREAL (Aug. 30, 2010) -- Andrew Ranger muscled by Jason Bowles as they exited the final corner of the final lap and won the race back to the finish line to win the NAPA AUTOPRO 100 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

The victory continued Ranger's remarkable run of success on road courses in NASCAR's development series. It was his second win in three years on the 2.7-mile Villeneuve course, and his 10th win on a road course in the three development programs.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire supplier for the Canadian Tire Series. The same line of bias-ply tires Goodyear provides for the Canadian series is also used by the competitors in the K&N Pro Series East and West. Ranger has won races in all three series this season.

Ranger's margin of victory was .488 of a second over Don Thomson Jr. Robin Buck finished third, Scott Steckly was fourth and Jason Hathaway came home fifth. The winner averaged 55.059 mph over the race distance. Ranger also won the pole with a lap averaging 92.877 mph, setting a track record as he did so.

Bowles bumped Ranger out of the way to take the lead with one lap remaining in the 24-lap race. Ranger caught up to Bowles and used a similar move to get the lead back within sight of the finish. Bowles crashed into a barrier and limped home in 20th place.

The top competitors for the championship struggled during the race. J.R. Fitzpatrick, the championship leader, finished 18th. D.J. Kennington, the second place driver, finished 28th. Fitzpatrick leads Kennington 1,623 to 1,572.
