"M&M's" Chocolate Candies Fascinating Fact...

"M&M's" Chocolate Candies have proclaimed themselves the official candy of the new Millenium. The connection? MM means 2000 in Roman numerals.

"M&M's" Racing Team Atlanta Motor Speedway Highlights...

* To commemorate their status as the official candy of the new Millenium, "M&M's" Chocolate Candies is running a special paint scheme at the NAPA 500 this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The car is painted a metallic navy with festive renditions of the "M&M's" Spokescharacters.

* Retired "M&M's" Racing Team driver Ernie Irvan will make his final lap around a Winston Cup race track on Sunday, November 21, prior to the start of this weekend's event at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Irvan, driving a Pontiac Grand Prix pace car painted with a matching Millenium paint scheme, will use the time to salute his legions of fans and fellow competitors for their support since his retirement on September 3, 1999.

Irvan finished his Winston Cup career with 15 wins, 22 pole positions, 68 top fives and 124 top-10 finishes in 313 starts.

* "M&M's" Chocolate Candies is hosting an early celebration for the new Millenium on Saturday, November 20, outside Atlanta Motor Speedway. NASCAR fans and "M&M's" enthusiasts will be treated to an early New Year's, including an autograph session by "M&M's" drivers Ernie Irvan and Jerry Nadeau from 5-6:30 p.m.

* The "M&M's" Racing Team posted a very successful trip to Atlanta Motor Speedway when the series visited the Georgia track in March. Driver Ernie Irvan and the "M&M's" Pontiac came from one lap down to finish seventh on a rainy day in March.

* MB2 Motorsports and the "M&M's" Racing Team have strong ties to the Atlanta area. All three of the team owners: Nelson Bowers, Tom Beard and Read Morton: graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens. Beard and Morton still reside in Georgia while Bowers lives in nearby Chattanooga, Tenn.
