MB2 Motorsports And Ernie Irvan Extend Contract Mooresville, N.C. (July 7, 1999) - MB2 Motorsports announced today it has exercised its contract option with driver Ernie Irvan, and the team is set to enter the 2000 season, marking the third year of competition. "We are ready to finish out the year strong and head into the year 2000 season with continued momentum," said Tom Beard, co-owner of MB2 Motorsports. "Ernie is our guy and with the team we have now I feel confident we can achieve our goal of finishing in the top 10 in points." "It feels good to have everything set for next year this early in the season," said Jay Frye, General Manager of MB2 Motorsports. "This team is still relatively young in that we've only been together for three years, and have seen significant accomplishments in that time. Ernie Irvan is a one of the best drivers in the sport. Right now we have one of the best situations in Winston Cup racing." Heading into the Jiffy Lube 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway, MB2 Motorsports has collected 16 top-10 finishes and three poles with Irvan behind the wheel. "Good things are going to keep happening for this race team," said Irvan, who was named to drive the No. 36 Pontiac in the fall of 1997. "I'm not finished winning and I really believe I can get to victory lane with this team."
