Scott Riggs won his first career NASCAR Busch Series race Saturday at Nashville in the Pepsi 300. The driver of the ppc Ford started from the third position.
Riggs, who leads the Raybestos Rookie of the Year title chase in the series, was overjoyed with his win: "I finally got one, we're gonna keep on doing it."
The race had a total of 5 caution flags. The first yellow came out for 44 laps for a light rain.
The third caution flag of the day came when Hank Parker Jr. put his Welliver-Jesel Motorsports Dodge in the back of Ashton Lewis. After spending numerous laps behind the wall for repairs, the Lewis Motorsports Chevrolet re-entered the race, and on lap 132, Parker found the wall in a similar fashion. NASCAR officials deemed the wreck as retaliation, and Lewis was black flagged and forced to the garage.
Rounding out the top five were: the new points leader, Jack Sprague, Bobby Hamilton Jr., Scott Wimmer, and Jason Keller.
