Atlanta, Ga. (May 6) - The Atlanta Dragway is the home racetrack for Scott Tidwell, driver of the CBI Performance Warehouse Chevy S-10 truck. Tomorrow the hometown crowd will be able to cheer on their driver when he takes his place in the Number 9 spot on the Pro Stock Truck ladder at the 20th Annual Advance Auto Part NHRA Southern National.

Tidwell, of Pinson Ala., is confident about his chances in tomorrow's eliminations.

"I just have to go out and do my job driving the truck tomorrow," said Tidwell. "I have Steve Johns in the first round. I believe I can get past him. He has lane choice tomorrow, and we know he will put us in the right lane. E.T. wise, he has us by a couple of thousandths. The right lane, in the shape it is, is worth a couple more. Pro Stock runs in front of us, so that will help even up the lanes a little. I will have to have a good light on him to get past him. I can do that.

"We have been eighth or ninth all year going into eliminations. That is not where we want to be tomorrow. Last week we were in the same position. That puts us racing the Number 1 guy in the second round. Last week we had Panella in the second round, and I left too early. That won't happen this week. If we get to the second round I will have something waiting for Panella.'

Eliminations at the 20th Annual Advance Auto Parts NHRA Southern Nationals begin at 10:30 AM EST, on Sunday May 7.
