Runner-Up Finish for Rookie Harker at Cordova Dragway

Cordova, IL - 25 year old rookie dragster driver, Diana Harker returned after a five week brake form the driver's seat of the Randy Meyer Racing A/Fuel Dragster to make her third final round appearance claiming a runner-up finish at this weekend LODRS Division Five event held at Cordova Dragway, IL.

Having claimed the number one qualifying spot with an impressive 5.37et at 268mph pass, the Harker-Meyer Team faced off against number eight qualifier, Edwin Schmeeckle in round one. In a re-match of the Brainerd Division Five Final, Harker was first off the line and never looked back to take the win with a 5.42et at 261mph pass.

Semi-Finals saw Harker gain a solo pass as Jared Dreher was unable to make the call and Harker wasted no time laying down another consistent 5.47et at 256mph pass to gain lane choice for the final round.

Facing off against Division Three hitter, Marty Thacker in the money round, Harker was late getting off the start line and watched on as Thacker drove by to take a hole-shot win with a 5.43et at 266mph pass defeating Harker's quicker 5.41et at 260mph pass.

"We certainly had another great weekend, claiming the number one spot and making our way to the finals. It really is a true credit to my team, proving just how dedicated they are to getting this car successfully down the track and I know I couldn't have made it this far without them. It was a great old drag race in the finals against Thacker and Randy gave me the car to beat all weekend so I really felt like I let my team down in the final but I am looking forward to moving onto Brainerd with a strong competitive car and hopefully I will get the opportunity to make it up to them." Said Harker "Again I can't thank our sponsors, Lend America, Aeromotive, Lucas Oil, Hedman Hedders, ARP, Taylor Cables, Seal Gunk and Aeroquip for all their fantastic support".

The Harker-Meyer Team move onto the Lucas Oil Nationals held at Brainerd International Raceway, August 7-10 in Brainerd, MN.
