Gann Goes Into Sunday 11th After Rain-Shortened Day at Englishtown; Faces Karen Stoffer in the first round of Sunday's finals

Englishtown, N.J. -- After losing the final round of NHRA Full Throttle Series Pro Stock Motorcycle qualifying Saturday at Raceway Park due to rain, 2003 event winner Shawn Gann enters Sunday's United Association NHRA SuperNationals eliminations in the 11th spot. He and his XTreme Rebellion/RumBum Buell will face Karen Stoffer in the first round.

Gann ran an ET of 7.101 with a speed of 182.55 mph during Q1 Saturday, which was slower than his ET of 7.069 on Friday. The North Carolina native won this event six years ago from the pole position and is confident about his changes Sunday.

"I feel good about it," Gann said. "My XTreme Rebellion/RumBum team have this Buell set up after rebuilding the engine this past week. We're eighth in points right now and I think we're going to win some rounds tomorrow and move up."

Gatornationals winner Hank Arana earned top qualifier honors in the PSM class Saturday, running a 6.965 at 189.87 mph. He will face Gann's RumBum Racing teammate Bailey Whittaker in the opening round of eliminations.
