Barber Mazda Series : Gerbi takes double podium in Watkins Glen,

After having won the 2nd round of the US Barber Mazda Series in Virginia, Gerbi climbed two times on the podium of Watkins Glen.

Qualified in 4th position, Julien took a careful start and was 5th in the first corner. Back in the front, he took part to the final battle for victory. He would cross the line in 3rd position, less than a second behind the race winner, the Brazilian Thiago Calvet.

In the 2nd round, the Frenchie took an excellent start. He was 2nd in the first corner, and eventually took the lead at the exit of the Esses, passing the leader by the outside. This Esses corner is historical for French motorsport, as it is where Francois Cevert found death in 1973. Keeping the lead during several laps, Julien lost the 1st place to Irishman Daly. A four-drivers battle entertained the end of the race, the leader's name switching several times per lap. With 3 laps to go, the red flag came out after the horrific crash happened in the last corner. The final standings were decided regarding the last lap before the red, and Julien was classified 3rd. The driver from Nice managed to set the fastest racelap.

Thanks to those results, he increases his lead in the championship, now preceding the Brazilian Thiago Calvet. Gerbi is the only driver who managed to be on the podium during each of the four first races.
