APRC reveals 2017 calendar, confirms India's date change
The Asia-Pacific Rally Championship unveiled the calendar for the 2017 season comprising of six rounds, confirming India's stay and change of date.
The new season will kick-start with the International Rally of Whangarei in New Zealand on April 28-30, with the finale again in India, but brought forward by a week to a November 24-26 slot.
The Indian organisers had earlier revealed to Motorsport.com on the date change, which was later confirmed by series co-ordinator Murray Brown.
Apart from India, the calendar has changes to other rounds from its 2016 dates, as Australia moves forward to the month of May leaving June without any rally.
The Chinese rally will take place in July, with Malaysia and Japan switching places to slot in the month of August and September respectively.
While the calendar is yet to be rubber stamped by the FIA, the APRC confirmed the Working Group committee changes with Vicky Chandhok taking the President role, while Colin Tinder becoming the Vice-President.
Alongwith Chandhok and Tinder, Malaysia's H.H. Tengku Shaharin Aku Bakar and New Zealand's Willard Martin are the two executive members.
The 2016 season came to a successive conclusion with India's Gaurav Gill winning all the six rallies and becoming two-time APRC champion, while Team MRF fielding the Skoda R5 took the teams' title.
