TOPEKA, Kan. (February 19, 2003) -- SCCA Pro Racing today released an updated schedule for the SCCA Pro Racing North American Championship, featuring the Mazda Miata Cup Presented by Hankook, Formula SCCA, Pro Spec Racer, American City Racing League (ACRL) and, at select events, the Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship.

Divided into Pacific and Atlantic Tours, the SCCA North American Championship schedule culminates at a combined Championship event October 18-19, 2003, at Heartland Park Topeka.

In addition to the updated schedule, SCCA Pro Racing also released the purse structure for Pro Spec Racer and Mazda Miata Cup Presented by Hankook. Each series features a total payout of $100,000 in race purse and season-ending point funds. Purse structure for Formula SCCA, ACRL and the Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship will be released at a later date.

The SCCA Mazda Miata Cup Presented by Hankook Atlantic Tour features an eight-race schedule that includes doubleheader events at BeaveRun Motorsports Complex, Carolina Motorsports Park and, a newly added event at Grattan Raceway, as well as single events at VIRginia International Raceway and Lime Rock Park. The Lime Rock Park event will be run in conjunction with the Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup and the SCCA Speed World Challenge.

The SCCA Mazda Miata Cup Presented by Hankook Pacific Tour will run nine events, including doubleheaders at Phoenix International Raceway, Buttonwillow Raceway Park, Pacific Raceways and the road course at California Speedway. The series will also run in conjunction with the Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford at Portland International Raceway. Due to an existing tire contract in the region, the previously announced Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca race will be run as an SCCA Restricted Regional event, instead of as a part of the Mazda Miata Cup Presented by Hankook schedule.

The SCCA Pro Spec Racer Atlantic Tour features a nine-race schedule with doubleheader weekends at BeaveRun, Carolina Motorsports Park and Grattan. The series will also run single events at Mosport Park with Trans-Am and the SCCA Speed World Challenge, at Lime Rock Park with the NASCAR Busch North series and at VIRginia International Raceway.

The SCCA Pro Spec Racer Pacific Tour will feature a nine-race schedule with doubleheader events at Phoenix, Buttonwillow, California Speedway and Pacific Raceways. The series will also run at Infineon Raceway, in conjunction with the NASCAR Winston Cup series weekend.

The Formula SCCA Atlantic Tour features a nine-race schedule that includes single events at Mosport Park, with Trans-Am and the SCCA Speed World Challenge, and at Lime Rock Park, with the NASCAR Busch North series. The Tour also features doubleheader events at BeaveRun, Carolina Motorsports Park and Grattan.

The Formula SCCA Pacific Tour's eight-race schedule includes doubleheader events at Phoenix, Buttonwillow, California Speedway and Pacific Raceways.

The ACRL Atlantic Tour features an eight-race schedule with doubleheader events at BeaveRun, Carolina Motorsports Park and Grattan, along with two single events at VIRginia International Raceway in June and August.

The ACRL Pacific Tour features a nine-race schedule with doubleheader events at Phoenix, Buttonwillow, California Speedway and Pacific Raceways. ACRL will also run an event at Infineon Raceway, as part of the American Le Mans Series weekend in July.
