Lambrecht is Electric in ASCS Rocky Mountain Opener at Great Falls
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (September 2, 2006) -- Paxton Lambrecht kicked off the American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region's two-night stand at Electric City Speedway by capturing his first career ASCS victory in Saturday night's 25-lap feature.
After leading the early stages, Lambrecht chased down Brent Kronfuss on the 15th round to take command for keeps.
Lambrecht gunned into the lead at the outset and paced the opening eight circuits before Kronfuss charged to the front. Kronfuss led just two rounds before action was interrupted when Dustin Hall and Phil Dietz tangled and both flipped. John Jacob and Jeff Heffner tangled as well in the ensuing melee. There were no injuries although all four were done for the night.
Following another caution two rounds later for a tangle involving current series point leader Patrick Bourke and Mark Sweet, Lambrecht wasted little time racing back into the lead.
Lambrecht was never headed the rest of the way, with Tim Gee slipping by Kronfuss at the line to snare the runner-up slot. Kronfuss settled for third, with Josh Ostermiller and Joe Ramaker rounding out the top five.
Trevor Kirkland, Tyler Pinceman, Rocky Borys, Bill Boyce and Geoff Beck completed the top ten.
Heat races were topped by Beck, Kronfuss and Boyce.
