Pierre Kleinubing kept Acura's quest for an 11th Manufacturers' Championship alive in the 2007 SPEED Touring Car Championship by scoring a third place finish at Mosport International Raceway in the No. 1 RealTime Racing TSX. He was able to move his Acura Certified Pre-Owned-sponsored machine from fifth on the starting to third place by lap three, and hold the position until the checkered flag flew.

He was followed to the stripe by teammate Kuno Wittmer's No. 44 Acura RSX. Kuno considers Mosport his home circuit and the Canadian fans cheered him on hoping to lift him to the podium. The young Quebec driver will have two more opportunities to accomplish that this season, but in the meantime, he earned a fourth place result for the fourth time in eight tries this year.

Also in the top ten was team leader Peter Cunningham in the No. 42 TSX, who qualified eighth but was bested by two slower qualifying BMWs and ended up in the tenth spot.

"The Manufacturers' Championship is always an important focus for RealTime Racing," said Cunningham. "When we do well in that, a Drivers' Championship will often take care of itself.

"With two races to go in the season, the Manufacturers' Championship will be a tough one to secure, but we're not giving up quite yet. The drivers' points battle will difficult as well, but if Pierre can have two strong performances, he could still bring home his fifth title for RealTime this year!

"If one or both don't become a reality, the team will still hold their heads high, knowing they did everything they could to give our drivers the best equipment in the World Challenge paddock."

As always, RealTime fielded five Acuras at Mosport. Brandon Davis qualified his TSX in 12th position but after a series of scraps fell to 15th place. Nick Esayian took the start in 14th place but was knocked off course on the second lap and finished his TSX in 17th place.

With eight races done and two to go in the 2007 season, Acura is 16 points behind Mazda, which did no better than fifth place today. For the Drivers' title, Kleinubing trails points leaders Jeff Altenburg and Randy Pobst 235 to 221 to 199. Wittmer is sixth at 172 points, followed by Cunningham with 168, Davis at 106 and Esayian with 94.

The Mosport race will air on the SPEED Channel on a tape-delayed basis on Saturday, September 1 at 100p EDT.

The SPEED Touring Car Championship will return stateside on October 3-5 at Road Atlanta, as a part of the petit Le Mans week.
