Rules for Six-Race CRA Street Stock Schedule Released
Crowning of First CRA Street Stock Champion and "$5000" to Win Race Highlight Announcement
(Salem, IN) -- Champion Racing Association (CRA) officials have released the rules for the CRA Street Stocks to be featured at Winchester Speedway five times during the 2005 season and once at Salem Speedway. The standard purse will be $1000 to win and $75 to start. On September 18th the CRA Street Stocks will be the stars in an exciting 200-lap race for $5000 to win, with 20th position paying $200.
The standard 30-lap CRA Street Stock races will be held April 24, June 12, August 14, September 4-5 at Winchester Speedway and October 22-23 at Salem Speedway. These five events, plus the $5000 to win / 200-lap event at Winchester on September 18th, will make up the Championship schedule for the CRA Street Stocks. Trophies and prize packages will be awarded to the top 5 teams in the final point standings when the 2005 CRA Street Stock Champion is crowned as part of the 8th Annual CRA Super Series Awards Banquet.
This package of races has been a project that the CRA officials have wanted to put in place for a number of years, and the re-opening of Winchester Speedway made it possible. "We are really excited to be able to put this program together for the CRA Street Stocks," commented CRA founder R. J. Scott. "My partner, Glenn Luckett, and I feel that this will help the gain the grassroots support for Winchester, while giving the racers a small series to be proud of and the chance to compete for a CRA title." CRA officials also announced that the 200-lap event on September 18th will award "Double Points".
CRA partners Scott and Luckett are promoting Winchester Speedway in 2005, and led the effort to feature the CRA Street Stocks as a support division for the Speedway, with support form track owner Charlie Shaw.
According to Luckett, "we've built some great rules that allow racers to come from different areas to compete on the prestigious highbanks in Indiana. The six events will be fun and easy for the teams and fans to support."
