Salem, IN (October 23, 2003) -- The Sunoco Super Series will be well represented in Salem Speedway's 15th Annual Halloween 200 scheduled for this Sunday, October 26th. This annual season ending 200-lap event for regional Street Stock and Super Stock racecars starts however many cars meet the rules on the grueling 1/2mile High Banks of Salem Speedway. The Sunoco Super Series is well represented in the events pre-entry list, which was at 85 cars as of Wednesday, October 22.

Sunoco Super Series Managing Partner R. J. Scott will again pursue the coveted Halloween 200 winner's trophy and $5000 first place payoff. Scott has been coming to Salem Speedway for several years in pursuit of claiming first place in what has been described as the "craziest and wildest" race around. Scott will be piloting the number 44 Champion Consulting Chevrolet and will hope to avoid last seasons bad luck that put him out of contention for the win after being involved in a 20 car pile-up on the backstretch in the early laps of the Halloween 200.

2003 Sunoco Super Series Hubler Automotive Group/Blake Carburetion Rookie Of The Year Chuck Barnes Jr. will be defending his victory in last seasons Halloween 200. Barnes Jr. broke his fathers streak of three consecutive victories in the Halloween 200. Chuck Barnes Sr., who recently made his Sunoco Super Series debut in the Car Brite 400, claimed his fifth Coors Light Super Stock Championship this season at Salem Speedway. Barnes Jr. will be in the number 51 Sunoco/Barnes Auto Service Chevrolet. Chuck Barnes Sr. will be in his traditional number 5 Barnes Auto Service/ Clifty Farms Country Hams Chevrolet.

Sunoco Super Series veteran Jeff Lane is also entered for Sunday's event. Lane had an early exit in last season's Halloween 200 after mechanical problems with his car. Lane got two victories with the Sunoco Super Series in 2003 and three Yockey Motorsports Marketing Fast Qualifier Awards.

There are three former Sunoco Super Series drivers entered for Sunday's race including Dwayne Klem, who won the Halloween 200 in 1996. Eric Nale and John Heck are also entered for Sunday's race, both drivers have competed on a part-time basis with the Sunoco Super Series in the past.
