Johnny Sauter Race Report: South Boston Speedway
Mooresville, NC - The American Speed Association held it's fourth race of the season at South Boston Speedway (VA) on Saturday, April 7th. The inaugural trip to the historic .455-mile track proved to have another disappointing end for the A.P. Performance Racing team.
Sauter started the evening in the 14th position, but stayed patient and worked his way up to the ninth position. On the first pit stop of the evening, Johnny came in 9th and went out 5th.
"I can't say enough about the work in the pits tonight," commented Johnny. "We've been working a lot on our pit stops and it's definitely paid off. They did an excellent job."
Sauter had a fast car and great pit work, bad luck would again strike the A.P. Plasman Group Chevrolet. While running in the 6th position, the right front tire blew and Johnny was forced to pit. Sauter ended the night in 17th, 6 laps down.
Johnny and the A.P. team are looking forward to the fifth race of the season at Hawkeye Downs Speedway (IA), on April 28th. "I really like Hawkeye Downs and have always done well there," added Sauter. "It's a perfect place for our luck to turn around."
